Amazon Free Mp3 With Cd Purchase

Amazon debuts AutoRip service for CDs, vinyl purchases

Free MP3 versions of albums now available with select physical purchases

Amazon Music adds thousands of CDs and vinyl records to its library

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON – June 28, 2007 – Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) today launched its new AutoRip service, which provides customers who purchase physical CDs and vinyl records with free MP3 versions of those albums. The service works with the Amazon MP3 store to give customers immediate access to their digital music, which can be downloaded to their computers, iPods, or other MP3 players.

“AutoRip is a great way for customers to get the best of both worlds – the physical album they love, plus the digital version they can take with them wherever they go,” said Bill Carr, Vice President of Amazon Music. “We’re excited to offer this service to our customers, and we think they’re going to love it.”

To use AutoRip, customers simply need to purchase an eligible CD or vinyl record from Amazon.com. The free MP3 version of the album will then be automatically added to their Amazon MP3 library. Customers can access their digital music from any computer, iPod, or other MP3 player by logging into their Amazon account.
